Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee starring web series, The Family Man was a success when it hit on the OTT platform. The web series garnered much-needed attention and became a fan-favourite in no time. After the huge success of season one, the makers announced that The Family Man 2 is in the making. The second season shoot commenced soon and was scheduled to release in February 2021 if things went as planned. However, it got delayed. According to the latest reports, The Family Man 2 is not getting shelved.
Bollywood Hungama reported that Manoj Bajpayee’s web series will drop in Summer 2021. A source close to the development said, “What Raj and DK tweeted is right. There’s no way the season is getting cancelled. We were quite shocked when this report came in. There’s no truth to it at all.” The source reacted to the reports stating that the Amazon Prime Video has cancelled season 2 of The Family Man. Reacting to the report, just in two alphabets, director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, aka Raj and DK, tweeted, “BS,” which literally means (bullsh*t).
In the report, the source further revealed that nothing in the show The Family Man 2 is getting reshot. The source added, “Raj and DK have already moved on to their next web series, starring Shahid Kapoor. And no, Amazon Prime is not even censoring anything. There’s nothing in the show that needs to be removed.” Explaining the delay in the release of the new season, the source continued, “The OTT guidelines are now in place and to put it into motion, Amazon Prime is taking time. It’s the new rule and to follow it, Amazon has taken time and hence, it has decided to delay the second instalment. That’s all.”
When asked when the audience can expect to watch The Family Man 2 on the OTT platform, the source replied and mentioned that the web series will release in Summer 2021. The source said, “It’ll be out in the summers. So expect it to release in May or June 2021.” Meanwhile, the second season will also see South star Samantha Akkineni.
